Product Information Materials
The bodies of all luminaires are manufactured in a low corrosion resistant, low copper content aluminium alloy ADC12, the same grade as used in the automobile industry. The high pressure die cast bodies provide mechanical strength and excellent heat dissipation characteristics, ideal for both low and high ambient temperature applications. All external screws used are made of high quality 316 stainless steel and only silicone grease is used on our fittings where there is contact between the stainless steel and aluminium, such as the tapping holes, to prevent corrosion that can be caused by a chemical reaction between the two different kinds of metals.
Paint Finish
To ensure consistency in the paint finish, LIGMAN Lighting subjects all exposed aluminium components to a tightly controlled, double step, pre-treatment process by degreasing and chromating for 15 minutes, then baking for a further 15 minutes before applying a UV stabilised polyester powder-coat finish. The baking of the powder takes place in a curing oven at a temperature of approximately 200ºC for 20 minutes. This process provides excellent corrosion resistance, powder-coat adhesion and colour stability.
Diffusers and Accessories
In order to ensure safety, stability and high quality of its luminaires, LIGMAN Lighting uses high quality safety glass, acrylic (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC), high density polyethylene (HDPE), Polypropylene (PP), depending on product, part and application.
Gasketing
In all luminaires LIGMAN Lighting only uses specially designed weather-proof, non-aging silicone rubber gaskets. These provide excellent ingress protection (IP) against moisture and dust. The gaskets operate effectively in corrosive and excessively variable temperatures from -40ºC to +150ºC.
Voltage and Lamps
LIGMAN Lighting’s luminaires are available with magnetic control gear 220V/50 Hz or 230V/50Hz for discharge lamps, and high frequency electronic ballasts 220-240V/0-50-60Hz for compact fluorescent lamps and 35W, 70W, 150W Metal Halide lamps. Luminaires are supplied without lamps, which are ordered separately.
With international trends moving more and more to energy saving and efficiency, the role of LED technology is gaining significant momentum, particularly with outdoor lighting. In meeting this trend, LIGMAN Lighting has designed a comprehensive range of luminaires specifically equipped for LED technology. With the understanding that outdoor luminaires are subject to extreme weather conditions, LIGMAN has only selected the highest quality manufacturers in terms of LED components.
Ambient Temperatures
LIGMAN Luminaires are designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -20ºC to up to 60ºC.
Standard
LIGMAN Luminaires are designed and manufactured in accordance with International (IEC 60598 2-1) and European (EN 60598 2-1) standards. Electrical components such as lamp holders, terminal blocks, internal wiring and control gear are carefully selected from the world’s leading manufacturers, such as Vossloh Schwabe, Tridonic, Osram, BJB. They have obtained European safety and quality insignia such as VDE, IMQ, KEMA, and ENEC, etc. LIGMAN Lighting columns and surface mounting flange plates are designed to conform to BS Standards. LIGMAN Lighting laboratory measurements within the system are executed in accordance with a number of international guidelines, most notably the CIE Publication 121-1996, EN 13032-1:2004 and IES LM 79-08 2007.
